Immigration Physical Requirements YOU NEED to Know

If you are immigrating, acquiring your green card, or obtaining citizenship, you NEED to have a physical done by a USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Service) authorized doctor.

During these checkups, there are certain immigration physical requirements for the exam to be accepted by USCIS.

After you book your appointment one of our doctors, make sure you bring these REQUIRED items to your visit:

·        Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record

·        Government-issued photo identification, such as a valid passport or driver’s license. Children under the age of 14 may bring their birth certificate as a substitute if necessary.

·        Vaccination immunization record

·        Payment

It is advisable to have all of these items ready when you go to your appointment.

Once at our office, one of our certified USCIS doctor will review your medical history and perform a physical examination.

(Don’t worry- you’re in great hands! Our doctors have OVER 30 YEARS of medical experience each!)

All applicants with a positive IGRA, known human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, or signs disease, must have a chest radiograph (chest x-ray).

Usually, the examination takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, just like any other physical at a doctor’s office.

Our doctor will then complete the Form I-693 after the examination is complete, and our office will seal it in an envelope.

We do advise you to get a copy of the filled-out form for your own personal records, which we are happy to do for you on your way out.

Once again for your convenience, adult Requirements (15 years or older):

·        A Physical Examination.

·        Quantiferon tests (blood draw) –      patients 2 years & older...

·        Syphilis (blood draw) – All applicants aged 18 years to those aged less than 45 years must be tested for evidence of syphilis.

·        Gonorrhea (urine test) – All applicants aged 18 to 24 years must be tested for evidence of gonorrhea.

·        A review of vaccination records.
